I have had so much gas lately. I can feel it from the time it leaves my stomach to the time is exits my body. Sometimes it is uncomfortable and other times its just annoying. I think I went to bathroom yesterday to relieve my gas about 15 times. In a quick “excessive gas and pregnancy” google search, I realized that it is normal. The hormones cause your intestines to digest food slower and that causes a gas build-up. Some tips offered were to avoid broccoli, beans, cauliflower and fruit. I can do all of them but fruit. I probably have 4 servings of fruit a day. The other recommendation was to exercise more because that speeds up your digestion. I worked out for about an hour yesterday and I’m already feeling a lot better today. The gas was getting pretty out of hand so I guess I’ll just have to keep working out. Darn!
On a side note, I have been noticing that my legs seem weaker lately on my walks. I can’t speed up hills like I used to. I have been walking the same amount as I was a few months ago and I’ve even added some toning exercises to my legs (squats and lunges to help with birth). I hadn’t been able to figure out what was going on until today. My ah-ha moment came when I realized that I’m carrying a lot more weight than I am used to. It’s like I’m wearing a weighted vest. Duh! No wonder my legs get sore on long uphill walks and I get out of breath faster.
